Momfluencer Abbie Herbert recently opened up about the moment she realized she needed to ask for help as a new mother.

With over 18 million followers across TikTok and Instagram, Herbert has built a career as a content creator and model while raising three children daughters Poppy, 5, and sons Jagger, 4, and Rocky Blue, 6 months.

She admitted that while her online presence may make balancing motherhood and work look seamless, her success has been possible thanks to the support of her husband Josh, her sister, and her mother.

Herbert recalled that when Poppy was six months old, she felt ready to return to full-time work but struggled with the high costs of childcare. She turned to her mother, Stacie Straughn, asking her to leave her job and help care for the children.

Though initially hesitant, Stacie agreed, moving closer to Abbie’s family and taking on a role that allowed her to spend significant time with her grandchildren.

Herbert explained that asking for help was not easy, but it made sense for her family, and she feels grateful that her children are growing up surrounded by their grandparents.

Reflecting on her journey, Herbert emphasized the importance of maintaining her identity outside of motherhood.

She loves being a mom but also values her career, travel, and creative work, wanting her children to see that it is possible to pursue professional passions while raising a family.

Her openness about the challenges of balancing work and parenting has shaped her latest motto: prioritizing both asking for help and choosing oneself, especially during the early postpartum period.
